Each of the sets here were created approximately a year apart from one another but each at the start of a new year. Like artists since time began, I have a habit of expressing myself through my painting, sometimes consciously and at other times quite unconsciously. It's fairly obvious that these pieces are connected. I believe they are connected not only by time, but cycles. For me, the new year represents a chance to begin again as if the clock has started over again. There are so many pathways we can choose to take based on where we are in time both physically and mentally. But the new year also reminds us that time is relentless in its own progress. Given this, are we using it to move forward through life...making progress ourselves?
